Influence of Parents' Child Rearing Attitudes Perceived by middle school students, Peer Attachment, and Study Habit on Career Identity Development

Abstract

This study goal to verify the influence factors on the career identify development for middle school students. For the purpose, 4th grade panel data was selected for analysis data out of KCYPS (Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey), The size of the sample was 2,061, consisting of 3th grade middle school students, who were in the 6th year panel of 4th grade elementary school. The revealed outcome from the analysis are as follows. First, the influence of parents¡¯ rearing attitude on career identity was examined and it was found that parents¡¯ affection and over-expectation were the factors to account for the career identity. Second, peer attachment of the adolescent was found to influence career identity. Third, it was verified that the better the study habit of the adolescent formed, the higher the career identity rose. Such outcome of this study is believed to help lay the foundation for research of factors that affect career identity development of the adolescent.
